Update: February 2005 - Oxi Wash Laundry Detergent is one of the latest additions to the Orange Glo family of products. This highly concentrated detergent is the only one that contains Oxiclean. The fact that it's concentrated is definitely good for your pocket book. But how good is it for your laundry? Read on to find out. We tested the Oxi Wash against our regular laundry detergent while using the Oxi Clean in addition to it. (For our review of the OxiClean click here). We did not test it against our regular laundry detergent without adding any Oxi Clean as we really didn't have the time or the patience to do our laundry just for the sake of testing how well the thing worked ; ). Now, we used to use plain ol' laundry detergent and bleach on our wash. When we discovered Oxi Clean, we found that it worked so well at removing stains and brightening whites that we've used it on our laundry ever since. When Orange Glo International came out with Oxi Wash, we knew we had to get our hands on it just to see how well it worked. After all, it does contain Oxi Clean. Our guess was that since it did, it would clean even better than just using plain ol' laundry detergent with the Oxi Clean on our wash. OK. The first batch of laundry that we used the Oxi Wash on was on our whites. Nothing grand. Just your regular undergarments, socks, etc. The results.... (drum roll).... Hmmm... where were the fireworks? We expected the whites to have been brighter than bright. They were clean and smelled fresh, but they weren't any brighter than if we had used plain ol' laundry detergent with the Oxi Clean. Hmmm... was something amiss? Maybe we just expected too much. By the way, the Oxi Wash does leave your laundry smelling fresh and clean without the smells of perfumes or fragrances. The next batch of laundry we tested it on was our colors. The results.... the laundry came out smelling fresh and clean. There was no color fastness, discoloration or fadeness. Of course, to really see the results a detergent has on colored fabrics, you'd have to use it quite a few times. Nonetheless, we were impressed with the preliminary results. The real value of the Oxi Wash comes from the fact that it's concentrated. This is great as you don't have to use much of it to get a full load of laundry done. Overall, the Oxi Wash is great to use if you want to stretch those hard earned dollars. If you have any Oxi Clean around the house, just use that in addition to your plain ol' laundry detergent. We figure the results will be just about the same. As with any product, be sure to adhere to the manufacturer's instructions when using Oxi Wash. |
