Orange Eliminator is specifically designed to remove stains from carpets, fabrics and upholstery. In fact, it works so well that my mother-in-law swiped a can from us.
The Orange Eliminator packs a powerful punch and works to dig deep down into a fabric to help dissipate a stain. Our findings show that it is stronger at removing stains from fabrics than the Oxi Clean Laundry Spot & Stain Remover, which is more for use with your laundry.
Most of the stains we tested the Orange Eliminator on were already set in or just recently made. We only tested it on our carpet and clothing fabrics. We didn't test in on any upholstery as we don't have any. One of our relative's home is full of upholstery. When we have a chance, we'll go over to her home and stain her very pricey upholstery. We'll then test how well the Orange Eliminator does at removing the stains. We'll gladly let you know of the results if and when we do this : ).
Anyway, we first used the Eliminator on some old clothing to see how well it worked on fabrics. We sprayed the Eliminator on clothing stained by baby food, spaghetti sauce and ink. The clothing fabrics were made of cottons, cotton blends and polyester blends. We applied the Eliminator, agitated the stained area with a soft brush and then proceeded to wash the clothing like normal.
When we inspected the clothing, all the stains were gone with just one exception - the ink stains. Boy, ink stains are sure tough to remove. Some are harder to remove than others as they are like dyes. The culprit was a pair of cotton khakis that had been stained with the ink stains for quite some time. After repeated washes, the stain had proven impossible to remove and we were about to toss the pants out or use them as cleaning rags. Anyway, we had to apply the Orange Eliminator twice and managed to get the stain a good deal faded and almost completely gone. Mind you we said almost. Not bad, considering that we had given up on removing the stain and were about to throw the pants away.
The last place we used the Eliminator on was on our living room's center piece rug. We specifically targeted a grape juice stain that had been dropped on the rug recently. That's right. We said grape juice. NOTE: This is not the same juice stain that we cleaned up using the Oxi Clean. Anyway, we applied the Orange Eliminator and let it sit for a short while in order to allow the cleaner to work itself in and help break up the stain. Afterwards, we gently scrubbed the stain using a moist sponge. The stain started to dissipate after a few short minutes. To completely remove that stain, we reapplied the Orange Eliminator a second time and gently scrubbed it again using the moist sponge. The end result was grape juice stain-free rug!
Hmmm... it seems to us that the magic number for using the Orange Eliminator is 2. This doesn't surprise us as we know that some stains require 2 or more treatments in order for them to be completely removed.
Overall, the Orange Eliminator is a handy cleaner to have around in case of an unexpected spill.
As with any product, be sure to adhere to the manufacturer's instructions when using Orange Eliminator.
