Boy oh boy! I remember the first time I hired someone to clean my mother's home. You see, dear ol' mom had fallen and fractured her arm walking down a sidewalk. The doctor said she would need several months of therapy and recuperation before she could obtain full use of her arm.

Of course, this wasn't acceptable to her as she was busy as ever working in a Hospital. At the same time she was in the middle of writing her first poetry book. On top of that, she has always maintained an immaculately clean home and she wasn't about to let it get dusty and the like. No, no, no. Not her. She insisted on keeping her home clean and orderly.

So, I did what any good son would do -- I hired a home cleaning person! But before I did, I called several cleaning and maid services in the city. Many quoted me up to $180 for a couple of hours of cleaning. I even proceeded to book one company for the job. I told my mom about it and that's when she mentioned that she knew a lady in the neigborhood who did professional cleaning and that she would talk to her about the cleaning job.

It turns out that my mom spoke to the lady and she agreed to do the cleaning for just $100 bucks. Of course, I said yes because it was saving me $80! My mom got the house cleaned, I saved some money and the cleaning lady made a killing for just a couple of hours worth of work. How did she make a killing you ask? Think about it. If you break it down, she made $50 an hour! And that was just with us. At that rate, she'd have made $2000 in a 40 hour work week. That's just over $100,000 per year for cleaning other people's homes. Holy moly!

Imagine bringing in that kind of income for doing something others can, but just don't want to do. That's why home cleaning is such a lucrative business.

Consider some of the benefits of starting a cleaning business:

  • You are your own boss - you can't be fired.
  • You make your own hours - take the day off if you want to.
  • High Income Potential - $50k to $100k per year is more than most people make.
  • Low start up costs - cleaning supplies aren't expensive.
  • Job security - house cleaning for others is recession proof!

If this is something you'd like to do, then I recommend you take a look at some of the home cleaning business e-books offered by Suze & Ev. They've run a successful house cleaning business for years and share their tips on what you can do to guarantee your sucess and get started in as little as two weeks - all with less than $100.
